It is the first time in history that Kabul has its own buzkashi team! The team is gathering people from different origins: tadjik, pansheeri, uzbek and french.




Haji Abdul Rashid is the head of the Olympic Buzkashi Federation for Afghanistan. He is a famous pansheeri commander. He has 3 wifes and numerous children. He is a very good and a very cheerful character. He owns a handful of horses...

Until last season Haji Abdul Rashid was supporting the pansheeri team of Marshall Fahim. This year he decided to split from Fahim and start his own team: Parwan. He then named me coach for the team. We were however unable to gather enough horses and tchopendoz around us. Together with the commanders keeping their horses in the stadium we later started Kabul team.



Haji Aminullah is officially the leader of Kabul buzkashi team. He is a very rich entrepreneur. He only decides if we will play a game or not. He is dressed in blue at the center of the picture.



Kheiri is the fiercest tchpoendoz of the team. He plays with wits and guts. He scores in every game. Commanders are proud to lend him their horses. Kheiri is a good friend, we support each other in the scuffle.



Zikridin is also a very good rider. He is mounting the horses of Ibrahim commander with a lot of class.

The other horsemen of the team are not permanent players. They are tchopendoz offering their riding skills to various commanders. The grooms are also taking part in the games from time to time.
